Football: German U17 is prematurely in the European Championship

The German U17 soccer players at the European Championship in Israel made the second victory and qualified prematurely for the quarter-finals.
The team of coach Marc-Patrick Meister won 3-0 (2-0) in Rishon Lezion against Luxembourg.
The young footballers won the opening game against Italy on Monday with 3-2.
The Mainz Nelson Weiper (7th minute), captain Laurin Ulrich (27th) from VfB Stuttgart and substitute Arijon Ibrahimovic (70th) from FC Bayern Munich scored the goals for Germany.
On Sunday (7:00 p.m.) the last game of the preliminary round is against hosts Israel.

The quarter -final games will be played next Wednesday and Thursday, the final will take place on June 1st in Netany.
The tournaments 2020 and 2021 in this age group were canceled because of the Corona pandemic.
In 2018 and 2019, the German selection was eliminated in the European Championship preliminary round.

The last German U17 title so far existed in 2009.
