You may have missed Anodyne 2 at his first exit on PC in 2019. Just like the original, he did not take a lot of room in the collective consciousness of the game. But it should have! While the first game was a 16-bit tribute full of strange ideas, the rest is more a ps1 love letter. The game is right, directly in my zone, in other words.
Seriously! You have your puzzles to solve, a strange world to explore and a sense of dreams dreamy and vengeance to face. All rendered with love in the shredded polygons and the soft tones of your youth badly spent. In addition, the basic game loop is really weird. Which is, again, just in my alley.
The Over world is housed in this retro 3D of which I mentioned. On the other hand, jumping into the minds of citizens and solving riddles inside is always in the 16-bit style of the first game. You also turn yourself by car at some point? You can view the integrated trailer below for a better preview of what I’m talking about. Anodyne 2: Return to Dust arrives at PS5, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and Nintendo Switch on February 18, 2021.
